day 1 | you will be greeted by your two tour guides, gabby and allie, and taken to your new home, to relax, snack, and meet your fellow co-mads. after you’ve had a chance to settle in, we kick off your philly adventure with a sandwich so ubiquitous in the city of brotherly love, it needs no introduction: the philly cheesesteak. we roll ourselves out of a meat-and-cheese induced stupor to explore the historic franklin fountain for a brand new light show. oh, and we hope you saved room for dessert, you don’t want to skip ice cream from this hotspot.

day 2 | breakfast is shared at home before we embark on an impactful volunteer experience. afterwards, we’ll have a picnic lunch to reflect. next up, we wander the charming elfreth alley where you’ll feel like you’re in europe. of course it wouldn’t be a trip to philly without a tour of independence hall. your day of giving back isn’t over yet…we’ll grab a beer and dinner at two establishments that have social justice at their forefront.

day 3 | after breakfast at our cozy abode, we will catch a train tour to get a glimpse of philly’s booming street art scene. we’ll satisfy our hunger and hearts by dining at a restaurant that serves tasty grub and donates 100% of proceeds to vulnerable philadelphians. the magic isn’t over yet…next up, a nonprofit visionary arts experience. for dinner, let’s eat tacos where a portion of the profits support the local immigrant community. hope you’re not too full to check out the vibrant nightlife of an eccentric neighborhood. we’ll be gallivanting with local hipsters and creatives as we explore the culinary, art, and music culture.

day 4 | reading terminal market is a historic landmark and a foodie’s dream. get a taste of the city’s cultural vibrance through a guided tour. after some free time, we’ll reconvene at the rocky statue, where you’ll have your pick of exploring the philadelphia art museum or eastern state penitentiary. dinner will be served at a modern japanese restaurant, where the philly-born head chef serves up some innovative cuisine. join us as we head back to the penitentiary for the debut of a special project, showcasing the talents and creativity of currently-incarcerated inmates.

day 5 | before we say our final goodbye, our trip wouldn’t be complete without philly’s only nonprofit coffee shop that employs previously fostered youth. then we’ll drop you off at the airport, don’t forget the tissues.
