founder / ceo / trip leader
in july, 2017, i quit an unfulfilling job to travel europe for three months to challenge the way i viewed the world and allow myself some time for creative exploration. i started meeting other travelers, many of whom were fellow americans. our discussions revolved around our travel aspirations, concerns about social justice issues back in the states, and professional ventures and goals. a common theme became evident… millennials want to immerse themselves in the various cultures of our country and use their skillsets to assist communities in need.
in brussels, belgium, the concept of co-mads was born. the goal would be to plan group trips, allowing individuals to immerse themselves in local culture and partake in unique adventures; while working to drive social change and promote the missions of effective nonprofit organizations and social enterprises. i hope you’ll join me on a co-mads journey, to witness and experience all that is great in this world.
travel & do good,
gabby has a b.a. in biology from the university of vermont, class of 2014. after college, she worked as lead program manager for best buddies new york and was awarded ‘program manager of the year’ from best buddies international in 2016. she then went on to work for austin & co., inc. as a human resource consultant for independent school clients, mostly based out of new york city. since leaving the company in july, 2017, gabby has spent close to six months in europe and about two months traveling around the united states. gabby has been volunteering since the age of seven and continues to work with and support numerous organizations. she is proud to have just completed a two year term as president of the alumni council for the dream program.
i met gabby at a brewery in amsterdam in november. we were both traveling solo and it was friendship at first ipa. since meeting in the netherlands, we have traveled to portugal, denmark, italy, southern california, and utah together. over the course of these trips, gabby shared with me her idea for co-mads and i immediately knew i had to get involved. i believed in her vision, and more importantly, i believed in her. co-mads provides an experience that is missing in the travel market, and offers adventures with a social mission that millennials, like myself, deeply crave. i can’t wait to share my excitement for travel, coupled with helping those in need, through co-mads as a trip leader. cheers to traveling and doing good!
