about

co-mads is redefining travel with innovative solutions. We’ve developed the trinity of modern travel, which entails our core values of mindful tourism, conscious consumerism, and community impact.

traditionally, travel has been used as an escape, a chance to take your mind off of pressing personal, professional, and social issues. co-mads encourages trips to be taken with purpose, to stimulate your mind and to face these issues head on. read more

mindful tourism is about using travel as a way to challenge one’s own belief system, to engage with people of different backgrounds, and to embrace new cultures. this allows for personal growth. mindful tourism is not about checking tourist destinations off your list, it’s about becoming a thoughtful and active member of the community you are exploring. all of efforts are designed to cultivate positive transformative change in individuals and the community.

co-mads promotes conscious consumerism by supporting small and locally owned businesses while curating events/activities/itineraries.  our brand is built with this value at its forefront.

co-mads embodies community impact. we provide travelers with meaningful volunteer opportunities by building mutually beneficial partnerships with effective nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and responsible business. co-mads chooses to work on community service projects that cater to the social issues and needs that are of interest to our travelers.

as travel becomes more accessible, it is important to set a standard as to what it means to be a socially responsible traveler in hopes of a better world. co-mads is setting that new standard with the trinity of modern travel.

the future of travel is co-mads.

In July, 2017, I quit an unfulfilling job to travel Europe for three months to challenge the way I viewed the world and allow myself some time for creative exploration. I started meeting other travelers, many of whom were fellow Americans. Our discussions revolved around our travel aspirations and concerns about social justice issues around the world.  A common theme became evident… people want to immerse themselves in the various cultures of our global community and give back. Through many conversations, and subsequent research, I realized that impact tourism is the new wave. read more

In Brussels, Belgium, the concept of co-mads was born. Originally, the goal was to curate travel experiences for groups within the U.S., allowing individuals to immerse themselves in local culture and partake in unique adventures; while working to drive social change and promote the missions of effective nonprofit organizations and social enterprises.

Soon after its inception, my idea to start a group travel company evolved to encompass something much larger…my network expanded, incredible opportunities came about, and the idea of co-mads grew to include events and services to help individuals, nonprofits, travel professionals/companies, and other businesses thrive and do more good in their communities, and beyond.
